mix it up!!! were living in a world filled with color.. come together and create a family, wheather its black, white, brown. yellow, pink, or maybe even green. lol :) Dr. King once had a dream that one day we can all be viewed as the same but some of us seem to not pay attention and are segregated from other races. come together and make our universe one big happy family. peace love and soooooouuuuullll !!! lol :-D

My Trip to See the Opera "Barber of seville"

on december 8, 2009 i went on a fieldtrip to the walt disney center to see "Barber of Seville". this event was breath taking. after seeing how great the production was i then knew that one day i will be a great Opera singer. many people fell asleep but i couldnt help but to stay up because i did not want to miss anything good. i had a wonderful time and cant wait til the next event! :)

Come to my Garden

Greetings to all of you out there in the Blog universe. My name is Court, and I welcome you all to my very first blog! :) This blog will be based on art, music, and how it makes an impact in my life. I have a strong conviction for music, and it is my job to witness to others about the art form of music. Im sorry to say but the music i hear on the radio today has to be the worst! My trepidation is that one day music will get so bad that we will forget about great artist who started the musical art form. Dont get me wrong i have nothing but deference for artist i may be remiss for. I just dont agree with the sound they put out there for the world. A lot of the radio "hits" i hear today is not my idea of "agreeable noise". I have to say my favorite artist has to be Minnie Riperton. everyone knows her for her 1975 single "loving you" and her achievement in hitting "the high C". Minnie Riperton showed that her range in that song and her voice didnt scratch not once. Every sound that came out of her mouth was graceful. Albeit; "loving you" was such an outstanding piece, my favorite song is "Les Fleur"from her "come to my garden" album. This song was such a pure and sweet piece, and it showed great propriety. Minnie inspires me because i would love to one day become at least half as good as she was when it comes to music. i love her mixture of classical music and jazz. Sadly Minnie passed away July 12, 1979 due to complications with Breast Cancer. Minnie Riperton was such a courageous woman, and i commend her for that. She will never be forgotten and her music will live forever. Rest in Peace Minnie Riperton (November 8, 1947 - July 12, 1979)..
